Red Nose Day
If I suggested on this blog that I was going to compile a paperback anthology of blog writing for publishing a week from today, and that you were all welcome to contribute your bestest and funniest post, you would probably give me a pretty funny look and wonder if that strait-jacket you bought for that fancy dress party is still handy. And with good reason.
No such doubts though when the lovely Mike, that indefatigable stalwart of the British blogging community, not only cogitated the idea but was brave enough to follow it through, and I have it in good authority that he was fairly sober during that eureka moment. All the proceeds from the sales of the book will go to Comic Relief.
Here is what you have to do: if you are a Brit abroad or a resident of the United Kingdom, and have written something, however long ago it was, that you think is an overlooked masterpiece of comedy writing, this is the time to go over to Troubled Diva and submit your post. But hurry! He has until Wednesday to submit the selected posts for publication and the sooner you send it, the easier it will be to get the book published.
It’s worth mentioning too that those of you who aren’t eligible to enter one of your funny stories can still contribute by buying a copy of the book when it comes out next Friday 16th from lulu.com, and the money goes to good causes, mostly in Africa. And since our leaders are more concerned with building weapons and blowing people up, it’s down to you and me to do something to help those who really need it!
